Prenatal Massage (60 minutes or 90 minutes)

Connect with your changing body and with your baby during a relaxing prenatal massage. Compassionate touch during pregnancy can positively affect the nervous system of both mother and baby, reducing stress hormones and anxiety while improving sleep, immunity and digestion. This restorative and stress-reducing treatment provides nourishment during a time of great physical and emotional change. Simple techniques can also be shared so the parents can perform prenatal massage at home, heightening the sense of connection for the entire family.

A medical release may be required to receive a massage. If the mother is in the first trimester, experiencing nausea, vomiting or morning sickness; is at a high risk for miscarriage; has a high-risk pregnancy due to placental abruption or preterm labor; or has any other special medical conditions, she should consult her doctor before receiving a prenatal massage and provide a medical release.

Post-natal massage (60 minutes or 90 minutes)

A gentle massage treatment during this time can help facilitate a mother’s recovery from a physically or emotionally stressful birth by enhancing her circulation and lymphatic drainage. Post-natal massage can also relieve strained muscles; restore the skin, muscles and connective tissue of the abdomen to their pre-pregnancy state; readjust spinal posture; and help a mother heal more quickly. It’s a chance for the mother to become reacquainted with her body and process her birth experience.

Massage (60 minutes or 90 minutes)

Skillful Touch massage involves the deep, slow, and sensitive application of hands-on techniques and movements on body tissue layers and structures.

It is not painful, and may bring dramatic results, including:

  • injury recovery
  • pain reduction
  • stress relief
  • increased flexibility and freedom of movement
  • headache relief

Additional techniques maybe used during the session to address specific muscle and joint dysfunction.

Strain Counterstrain is a techniques that uses gentle passive positional release techniques.

Assisted stretching increases muscle flexibility and range of motion by combining passive stretching and isometric stretching.
